Short Press Bio Carl Durant

After an 11 year stint in San Diego, CA, Belgian singer songwriter Carl Durant brings his signature sound of cinematic pop-rock as a mix of finger picked and strummed-guitar songs back to the Old Continent. His voice: reminiscent of The Decemberists with a touch of Placebo. His songs: ranging in style and lyrical content from Ed Sheeran to REM. Bart Mendoza (see WikiPage, Manual Scan/The Shambles, Blindspot Records) calls him “a solid songwriter, with a lot of potential”. Michael Laskow (CEO of Taxi) describes his recordings has having a “nice aural landscape [sic]”, with a base of acoustic guitar and layers of electronic or other acoustic sounds. Currently working on new recordings, and always ready to book the next show solo or with his cello-to-electric band The Lost Kings.

Live, Carl has shared the bill with Jack Tempchin, Milow, Adam Levy, Jesse Thomas, Josh Damigo, Colin Clyne, … playing over 100 shows at House of Blues, Hard Rock Cafe, Lestat’s West and many more.
