Disclaimer: Be sure that you can handle “Got my boys in the water” going through your head for the rest of the day after listening to this song. Amazing vocal performance, amazing production (the “just enough” kind) and they’re Belgian. What more do you need? Oh yeah, a cool video. That too…
Ben Howard performs a cover of Carly Rae Jepsen’s track, Call Me Maybe in the Radio 1 Live Lounge.
I hadn’t heard of Ben before stumbling upon this one. A very interesting version and probably a good introduction to the style of this British songwriter.
Oh yeah: has an amazing voice… check it out for yourself. (Bonus points for the bass player for also playing drums. Or the other way around.)
The article about my song&video “(Not Our) Ride Home” first appeared in the blog (“Jam Session”) of the SD Reader, and is now featured in this week’s “Blurt” column of the print edition.
You can get a copy till Tuesday 12/4, and here is the link to the online version of that article.
Super cool. Thanks again to Jay Allen Sanford and the SD Reader editor team for their support of local music !
(And thanks to Steve Covault for taking this amazing picture at the Tin Can Ale House show with Colin Clyne, last Friday 11/30.)
This week an award winning video ! It got the “Silver Remi Award at the 2012 Worldfest – Houston International Film Festival”.
SO3 is a rock-trio founded by guitar maestro Mike Artamonov and bass player Serge Belongie, who alternatively take on the lead singing role. They can put up a great live show and make cool video’s too… Just see for yourself !
